Joint Operation conducted - Police and Trading Standards |
||
|
Good afternoon,
Yesterday evening, 6th May 2026, your Neighbourhood Policing Team worked in partnership with Trading Standards to carry out a joint operation at a shop in Lancaster City Centre.
During the visit, a large quantity of illegal tobacco and cigarettes, illicit vapes, and counterfeit clothing were seized. These items are believed to have been intended for sale within the community and have now been removed from circulation.
Operations like this are vital in tackling illegal trading, protecting reputable local businesses, and safeguarding the health and well-being of residents, particularly young people, by preventing access to unsafe and unregulated products.
We would like to thank members of the public who continue to provide information and support our work. Your intelligence helps us and Trading Standards target activity where it matters most.
If you have concerns about illegal sales or suspect criminal activity in your area, you can report directly to Trading Standards via the Citizens Advice website Reporting to Trading Standards - Citizens Advice or by reporting it to the Police either via the Lancashire Police website or by calling 101. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can provide information to the police via Crimestoppers What is the crime or incident? | Crimestoppers.
